A group of stars celebrate the music of David Gilmour and Pink Floyd at the Ridgefield Playhouse on January 19

It is a group of stars who perform the music of Pink Floyd by David Gilmour at The Ridgefield Playhouse to Wednesday January 19, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.. The Gilmour project, part of the Pepsi Rock series driven by a North American automobile, celebrates the 50th anniversary of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, which Pink Floyd first performed in January 1972 at Brighton Dome, UK.

The group, made up of acclaimed musicians: Jeff Pevar (guitar with CSN, David Crosby, Phil Lesh, Ray Charles); Prince of the Prairies (co-founder of The Tubes, & drums with Todd Rundgren, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh); Kasim Sulton (bass with Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, Meatloaf & Blue Oyster Cult; tour with Cheap Trick, Hall & Oates, Patty Smyth); Brand Karan (guitar with Bob Weir / Ratdog, The Other Ones, Phil Lesh) and Scott guberman (keyboards with Phil Lesh) will play and explore The dark side of the moon, in its entirety, honoring the legendary band.

Focusing on David Gilmour’s Pink Floyd repertoire, The Gilmour Project will delve deep into the exploration and improvisation that only Gilmour could create. Fans will hear not only the heavy psychedelic lift of daring and beloved Pink Floyd ‘Gilmour-centric’ songs, but also rarities from David’s solo catalog. This interpretation certainly does not dismiss the iconic contributions of the five historic musicians who make up the Pink Floyd complement, only to highlight the philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative artistry and, of course, elaborate live performances. Two series will be performed; one featuring ‘DSOM’ in its entirety and one with selected songs and extended jams. Enjoy a great evening with dinner and show – visit The Hideaway (30 Grove Street, Ridgefield) for pre-show dinner, and enjoy a free draft beer or glass of wine with your entry when you present your ticket. Pink Floyd is a permanent artist of media sponsor 99.1fm WPLR.

Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon has sold over 15 million copies in the United States since its release in 1973, with over 45 million units sold worldwide. A rock classic, the album catapulted the group – bassist / vocalist Roger Waters, guitarist / vocalist David Gilmour, keyboardist / vocalist Rick Wright and drummer Nick Mason – to iconic status after spending 937 weeks. Billboard 200. Dark Side of the Moon, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, with engineer Alan Parsons, was Pink Floyd’s first album to hit the US Top 40.
