Jackson rose to prominence when his controversial song, “How To Rob” was released in 1999. A year later, he was shot dead by a gunman outside his grandmother’s house and was subsequently hospitalized for 13 days. The shooter fired nine shots consecutively, seriously injuring him.

He was signed to Columbia Records while in the hospital, but then dropped out when he wanted to release the song “Ghetto Qu’ran”.
