Live theater is back in Brock.

The Beaverton Town Hall players are ready to return to the stage with an upcoming production of That Pioneer Spirit.

The play, written by local resident Paul Tremeer, centers on a pair of newlyweds who move to a farm in the big city – and shenanigans ensue.

“We’re really excited about it, it’s a pretty fun piece,” said Pat Rose, president of Beaverton Town Hall Players and co-director and co-producer on the production.

The production attracted veteran George Timms to reprise a role he played in the 1992 production of the play, alongside Kathy Davidson. She is co-directing and co-producing alongside Rose and starring, a role she has also portrayed before.

“It’s been really great, it’s all coming together pretty well,” Rose said of the casting. “Everyone is doing amazing work, and they’re really excited to bring it to life.”

That Pioneer Spirit debuts September 30 at 8 p.m. at the Beaverton Town Hall Theater, with additional shows October 1, 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. and matinees at 2 p.m. on October 2 and 9. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Maxine’s Fashions in Beaverton or by calling 705-426-7734. Visit for more information.
