News: Theater Project’s 50th Anniversary Season Opens with High Zero 2021

On March 8, 2020, COVID forced us to stop all live performances. But now, a year and a half later …

WE ARE BACK! Welcome to the Theater Project 50th Anniversary Season!

The coming year will feature productions from our resident companies, including High Zero, Happenstance Theater, IN Series, Iron Crow Theater, Peabody Chamber Opera, Deep Vision Dance Company, VTDance / Vincent E. Thomas, and Alex and Olmsted.

Guest artists include John Feffer, Phill Branch, Full Circle Dance Company, Sandglass Theater, ellen cherry, BlueShift Dance, Vaught Contemporary Ballet, Air Dance Bernasconi, and Good Theater.

In addition, we will also be celebrating our 50th anniversary with special live and virtual events throughout the year.

Come celebrate 50 years of What’s Next! We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

HIGH ZERO 2021

High Zero Foundation

September 23 – 26

Baltimore’s High Zero Festival of Experimental Improvised Music is in its 23rd year, and as we all come out of our isolation, we seek to connect through music. This year, we’re playing it safe by always taking more risks!

Live concerts return to the Theater Project on Fridays and Saturdays with all the local artists. Thursday evening, performances from faraway places will be offered. Sunday evening there will be dozens of pithy five-minute performances.

Circumstances require a limited number of seats for in-person performances, so all shows will be broadcast on Twitch. Members of the High Zero / Red Room mailing list will be offered a chance to enter a lottery to claim a coveted spot in the audience.

For the safety of our wonderful patrons and musicians, we take a number of security measures for in-person performances.

  • The number of seats at the theater project will be limited
  • Guests must be vaccinated or have a negative COVID test up to seven days before attending the festival.
  • All guests must wear masks inside the Theater Project.
  • If you have symptoms related to COVID on the day of the show, please do not attend.
Unfortunately, tickets will not be sold Theater Project. Only a limited number of advanced tickets will be sold through a lottery. Each performance will be streamed live on Twitch. The broadcast will involve multiple cameras and microphones for a high quality viewing experience.
