Process and control today | CLPA shows how a network is all you need at SPS Italia 2022

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will present its open industrial Ethernet technology, CC-Link IE TSN at SPS Italia – Smart Production Solutions. From May 24-26, 2022, visitors to Hall 6, Stand G030 can experience how CC-Link IE TSN forms the basis of convergence to create a single industrial automation network that connects entire facilities. This, in turn, merges the worlds of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). Coupled with broader support for the local industrial automation market, the CLPA offers a unique opportunity to boost the flexibility and efficiency of Italian manufacturing.

Expected as one of the biggest editions of Italy’s leading smart manufacturing fair, the tenth SPS Italia is not to be missed. Its growth in 2022 accurately reflects the state of the local industrial automation market, which grew by 10% from 2019 to 2021 1. CLPA will be exhibiting on Stand G030, Hall 6 to highlight how the industry can still benefit from advanced connectivity.

Alberto Griffini, the latest CLPA appointment and a great Italian automation expert, will be on the stand throughout the show. He will be available to discuss the latest initiatives to help device suppliers and machine builders develop competitive solutions as well as how end users can benefit from cutting-edge technologies.

In particular, in line with the key themes of this year’s show, District 4.0 and “Sustainability for Industry”, the CLPA will present how to approach these two aspects and improve operations by leveraging CC-Link IE TSN. This open industrial Ethernet is the first to combine gigabit bandwidth with time-sensitive networking (TSN) capabilities to support converged Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

By visiting the CLPA booth, attendees can learn how CC-Link IE TSN can deliver this by enabling real-time deterministic communications that form the basis of convergence. As a result, enterprises can efficiently facilitate data sharing over a single, unified network, supporting IT/OT fusion while simplifying architectures, reducing costs and improving productivity.

Visitors will also be invited to explore CC-Link IE TSN’s extensive development ecosystem, designed to remove any barriers to product development or upgrades. Additionally, they will be able to see how the technology is implemented in fully operational automation devices by CLPA partners.

Alberto Griffini, Business Developer at CLPA Europe, says: “I am delighted to represent CLPA at SPS Italia 2022. I look forward to discussing how I can help local businesses and to work closely with device vendors to support them in the implementation of CC-Link IE TSN in order to provide innovative Industry 4.0 applications and solutions.I would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about this networking technology and how it can advance your operations and portfolio at join us in the living room.

John Browett, Managing Director of CLPA Europe, concludes: “SPS Italia is a must for CLPA, and we are delighted to have a physical stand at this year’s edition to showcase our comprehensive support for local businesses that want to create connected industries. CC-Link IE TSN represents the backbone of data-driven smart manufacturing by delivering the level of convergence required to maximize transparency, availability, efficiency and productivity.
