The Roxy Regional Theater presents “Cumberland Winds Jazz Project: 1940s Radio Days” on October 1-2


Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheaterClarksville, Tennessee – With a nod to the past, the Cumberland Winds Jazz Project is teaming up with Clarksville’s oldest professional theater, the Roxy Regional Theater, this fall to recreate an old-fashioned 1940s radio show.

Traditional big band music will combine with radio sketches, old-fashioned commercials and maybe a war news flash or two at the “Cumberland Winds Jazz Project: 1940s Radio Days” at the Roxy Regional Theater on Friday 1st and Saturday. October 2, 2021 at 7.30 pm.

In the intimate setting of the Roxy Regional Theater, The Jazz Project will present music from the great popular orchestras of the 1940s, including Glenn Miller, Les Brown, Gene Krupa and the Andrew Sisters. The evening’s star singer will be Charlie King, singing all-time songs such as “A Foggy Day”, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “It Had to Be You”.

Tickets for “Cumberland Winds Jazz Project: 1940s Radio Days” cost $ 15 and can be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931.645.7699 or at the Roxy Regional Theater during regular ticketing hours (9 a.m. 00 to 2 a.m.). 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and one hour before the performance).

The Cumberland Winds is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that exists to promote and foster excellence in wind and jazz ensembles in the Tennessee Cumberland River regional area.
