Theater Maui Theater Announces Plans for Summer Camps | News, Sports, Jobs

Great Scott Productions’ Kristi Scott is ready for more camp action during Theater Theater Maui’s summer programs and will also be bringing back her amazing creative team.

LAHAINA – In partnership with Great Scott Productions, Theater Theater Maui (TTM) has announced that there will be two performing arts camps this summer.

All camps will be held at the Maui Preparatory Academy in Napili.

“We will once again be offering two-week camps for keiki ages 5-9 in addition to hosting our annual six-week camp for those entering grades 4 through 12 next year,” noted Annabehl Sinclair-Delaney, Chair of TTM’s Board of Directors.

“The two-week camp format was first offered by TTM last summer for young keiki and has been extremely popular. We expose them to basic theatrical skills and they perform a short play at the end of each camp “, she continued.

“Families can choose to sign up for one, two or three camps, as each will have a different room. For our older actors, they develop acting, singing and dancing skills and are involved in all aspects of setting up a production in which each of them participates. Our musical theater selection is “MATILDA, Jr.” by Roald Dahl, and we are excited to present this during the final week, between July 21-24. Best of all, we look forward to a return to live, in-person performances,” concluded Sinclair-Delaney.

Kristi Scott (aka “Drama Queen”) from Great Scott Productions returns as camp director. She is joined again by Kathleen Schulz as Kamp Krazy Tales instructor, and the rest of the creative team running the Matilda Camp is Frances Taua, assistant director; Felicia Chernicki-Wulf, choreographer; and Aida Rose, musical director.

All camps will run Monday, June 13 through Friday, July 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Each of the two-week camps costs $175, reduced to $475 for all three camps. For the advanced summer camp, the tuition is $475.

TTM continues to offer a sibling discount when registering two or more students from the same family. Need-based scholarships are available for families who request assistance, thanks to the generosity of TTM donors. Instructions are provided in the registration materials.

To register and for more information on any of these offerings, go to TTMWestMaui.org and select Summer Camp 2022 from the Registration tab.
